8R, 8RT, and 8RX Implement Compatibility

8rx tractor in the field

Versatility & Capability

From pulling heavy tillage implements to large precision planters to side-dressing crops with minimal soil impact, the all-new 8R, 8RT and 8RX Tractors deliver more horsepower choices and greater comfort than before. With advanced steering technology, suspension systems and a 56.3 km/h (31-mph) transport option, these tractors are also right at home on the road.

New ExactRate™ Tractor Tanks

The 8RX Tractor with optional ExactRate™ Tractor Tanks makes applying high-rate, liquid fertiliser easier than any third-party solution can. A 1,000-gallon (3785 L) capacity reduces refill stops. And an integrated design ensures these tanks won’t block an operator’s visibility – or their way into or out of the tractor.

John Deere CTIS (Central Tyre Inflation System)

Monitor and control tyre pressure from the cab with CTIS. Enter a field, push a button, and deflate the tyres to increase their footprint by nearly 25%. This allows for a 2-4% reduction in slip, and a 3 psi reduction in ground pressure. When you’re ready to hit the road, simply push a button to inflate the tyres to the optimal setting.

8r 3pt hitch

Integrated front 3-point hitch and PTO

Integrated front hitch and PTO make the 8R, 8RT and 8RX Tractors impressive performers in front-implement applications. The hitch can be factory installed on all 8R Tractors equipped with Independent Link Suspension (ILS™). A premium front hitch option gives you a choice of one or two front SCVs and auxiliary couplers. The integrated and compact style maintains full maneuverability even with large front tyres. This front hitch has a maximum lift capacity of 5193 kg (11,450 lbs.).

8r series 3pt hitch

Rear 3-point hitch-lift capacity

Hitch your implements from the rear or from the front at 5193 kg (11,440 lbs.). A fully independent, 45-mm (1-34-in.) 1000-rpm PTO is standard equipment and specially designed for high-power, heavy PTO loads that require full horsepower above 150 PTO hp. Get added load-bearing strength to handle large-capacity and extra-wide implements with an optional Category 4 drawbar.

8 series drawbar

Category 4 drawbar

Get added load-bearing strength to handle large-capacity and extra-wide implement with an optional Category 4 drawbar and 50.8 mm (2-inch) hitch pin with heavy-duty drawbar support and 4990 kg (11,000-lb.) tongue weight capacity. Ideal for planters, grain carts and slurry wagons.

Hydraulic capacity

Hydraulic capacity

The heavy-duty hydraulic system boasts plenty of reserve capacity to operate large hydraulic motors, even at reduced engine speeds. Closed-centre pressure and flow-compensated hydraulics are standard equipment and are used for all steering, brake, hitch and SCV functions.

Electrohydraulic SCVs

Electrohydraulic SCVs

Choose up to six rear electrohydraulic selective control valves (SCVs) with adjustable flow rates, timed detents and breakaway couplers to meet your needs. Precise control of the SCV hydraulic flow lets you fine-tune flow rates for any application. Each SCV has its own controller located on the CommandARM™. You can easily adjust and monitor all hydraulic settings through the CommandCenter™ display.

PTO Options

PTO Options

A fully independent, 45-mm (1-3/4-in.), 1000-rpm PTO is standard equipment and specially designed for high-power, heavy PTO loads that require full horsepower above 150 PTO hp. Our 8R Series Tractors offer extra mechanical and electrical speed-change PTO options to deliver the versatility and flexibility you need for your implements.

Front Axle Options

Front Axle Options: MFWD or IVS

Choose from a mechanical front-wheel-drive (MFWD) axle or Independent Link Suspension (ILS™). Both have electro-hydraulic automatic engagement and give you the drawbar pulling power you need in all operating conditions. The 1500 Series MFWD option lets you add duals to your front axle for added load-carrying capacity, traction and flotation.

Our industry-leading Independent Link Suspension system delivers exceptional ride quality with minimal powerhop more and power to the ground to help you stay comfortable and productive, pass after pass. ILS gives you 25.4 cm (10 in.) of suspension travel to keep front duals in contact with the ground, meaning you can work faster for improved productivity and enhanced comfort.

AirCushion™ Suspension

AirCushion™ Suspension

The 8RT Tractors are the only 2-track tractor with AirCushion™ axle suspension and a true 4- Corner cab suspension. AIrCushion suspension delivers 38-cm (15-in.) vertical travel between the tracks and the frame combined with 10.2-cm (4-in.) of vertical travel in the cab suspension, isolating the chassis from harsh, uneven terrain. The result: faster working speeds over rough ground to get more work done. The entire system is fully automatic. No adjustments needed.

8 series Tyre Options

Tyre options

Choose from a wide selection of tyres to fit a variety of row-crop, broadacre and transport applications, including an expanded lineup of Group 48 duals and Group 49 tyre options. Group 49s have a larger diameter and longer footprint for improved traction and reduced compaction when compared to smaller tyres of the same section-width and design.

8rx tractor with ActiveCommand Steering (ACS™)

ActiveCommand Steering (ACS™)

Steering is a breeze. With ACS, John Deere has designed one of the most robust and encompassing steering system in the industry. Whether in the field or on the road, ACS reduces steering effort so you stay fresh, comfortable and in control. You can easily make adjustments on the 4600 CommandCenter Display to fit your conditions, track widths and applications.

Dynamic road-wheel offset control. A gyroscope senses tractor yaw and can automatically make small steering adjustments to help you hold the line. If you encounter bumpy road, you’ll quickly notice that ACS makes it easier to keep the tractor straight, even over rough terrain delivering a more controlled and comfortable ride, even at transport speeds of 50 km/h (31 mph).

8 series transportation options

50 km/h (31-mph) transport option

This option lets you move at faster speeds to haul more throughout the day. It’s available on tractors equipped with the e23™ Transmission or the Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™). These tractors also require Independent Link Suspension (ILS™) with front brakes, trailer brakes (air or hydraulic), front fenders, and B-speed rated front and rear tyres. Row-crop and wide-section duals are available with 50 km/h (31-mph) transmissions.
