Intelligent Power Management

The 8R/8RT/8RX Series Tractors combine world-class efficiency with increased horsepower to push productivity to higher levels than ever before. Intelligent Power Management (IPM) provides a horsepower increase during PTO and transport applications of up to 26 kW (35 HP) for full PTO power and speed. Couple that with the increased hydraulic capacity and these tractors can handle large planters and implements with ease.

Emissions control

Our integrated Emissions Control system consists of several elements — a cooled exhaust gas recirculation, a diesel oxidation catalyst, a diesel particulate filter and a selective catalytic reduction system — all specifically designed to meet your farm’s rigorous demands. This seamlessly integrated solution can use less diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) for total fluid economy. The aftertreatment system is streamlined into a smaller package than on previous models, improving visibility from the cab and uses less DEF.

New Fan-Drive Cooling System

The cooling system delivers even in harsh operating conditions. It limits dirt and debris buildup, operates at a reduced noise level compared to earlier models, and is easy to service.

16-Speed PowerShift transmission with APS

Need simple and reliable mechanical pulling power? The tested and proven 16-speed PowerShift with APS provides full power shifts on-the-go helping save fuel. This means there’s no need to stop the tractor or press in the clutch to change gears; the transmission can simply automatic shuttle-shift between forward and reverse.

e23™ PowerShift transmission

The e23™ PowerShift option with Efficiency Manager™ pairs the benefits of a mechanical transmission with the ease of an Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™). The e23 has 23 forward gears evenly spaced 15% apart to fit your different operating conditions and implements. The spacing lets you shift smoothly, resulting in better ride quality while maintaining peak ground speed at reduced engine rpms to save fuel. The e23 also provides 11 reverse choices with a 30% speed change between gears.

Brake pedal sensors on e23-equipped tractors provide an integrated AutoClutch function. During tractor operation, just use the AutoClutch feature to stop and start the tractor with a single stroke of the brake pedals.

Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™)

The IVT gives you the best in performance and operation. It’s similar to the traditional gear-up and throttle-back operation performed manually with other transmissions. With a single lever, you can move smoothly from 0 to 40 or 50 km/h (26 or 31 mph) — and any speed in between, including creeper speeds as low as 50 m (164 ft.) per hour. Dial in a specific ground speed and the transmission and engine work together to keep the tractor there, instantly responding to changing load conditions.
